Ritsuko :

Ritsuko is a Hod impersonation. She lives under the illusion that everything in the world is in a certain order, that it can be described and handled according to scientific laws.
Because of her deep believe in science and logic she has problems to understand issues that are not "logical", like relationships and love between a man and a woman.
She was involved in nearly every stage of the making of EVA and NERV, therefore she knows the truth (virtue) behind, but as well is she part of the schemes and denials, the false news-coverage and lies (vice) that NERV uses to disguise their activity and the fact what angels are and why Second Impact happened.
When she finally realizes, that Gendo used her as long as she was useful to him, she realizes that her whole life was based on lies, that she repeated nearly every mistake her mother did.
An interesting fact is, that it was Caspar-3 who refused to self-destruct, as Caspar was programmed with the "woman"-persona of Akagi Naoko - and "Naoko" chose her former lover over "Balthasar's" child, so Ritsuko was betrayed by what she thought she knew best : something logical.
Ritsuko lived and died under the constant illusion of order and logic, and achieved ... nothing that she wished for.
